We begin with a scene from the last episode,

With Twi leaving Spike in their leafy abode.

They go to the train station and prepare to board,

While Dashie tells tales of when she was ignored.

Flashing back to the past we see her rather sad,

As she gives a great shout from the back of her dad.

She vows that the empire won't suffer that fate,

And they all board the train bound for Cadance' estate.

They practice, and practice, and practice some more,

But soon all six end up sprawled out on the floor.

Their train has arrived and they are quite enthralled,

The kingdom looks nicer than they had recalled.

Citizens are working, all eager to please,

The gamesmare's attention they all hope to seize.

They soon go to Cadance and help to prepare,

When in runs a clearly anxious mailmare.

She says that the stylist is sick with the flu,

Leading Rarity to offer, as next in the queue.

The crisis averted, she gives her the list,

And Rarity questions her want to assist.

The mailmare than spits out the other bad news,

The gamesmare is minutes from their crystal venues.

They all start to panic but Twilight calms down,

Getting the group set to welcome to the town.

The pony is holding a floral handbag,

So they start to look for the judging old hag.

Their mark is soon found with a striking green mane,

She first addresses them with hints of disdain.

Her attitude changes within a few lines,

Demeanor not matching the expected whines.

She seems quite enraptured and taken aback,

Her accent more fitting for our Applejack.

She leaves with the group but the "camera" soon pans,

To where the inspector dejectedly stands!

The princess is having problems of her own,

As her mane is ruined, unfit for the throne.

The main group then head to the crystal castle,

Oddly enough missing each lord and vassal.

Though missing their sixth they try out their routine,

The likes of which their guest never has once seen.

How she got so lucky she hasn't a guess,

But she aloud wonders "Where is the princess?"

The ponies try to keep the mare occupied,

While Twilight goes to where Cadance does reside.

She learns that for extra time she must now stall,

And on Shining Armor she decides to call.

They try to take her to the castle's own gym,

While Twi finds her brother training hoof and limb.

He agrees to help but is soon in a fix,

As is course is demolished by one from the sticks.

She soon finds herself with her head in a pot,

But she picks up the pace rather than just trot.

Rainbow Dash gives pursuit and stops her free roam,

Becoming acquainted with the spa's glass dome.

The others catch up and she does meet Twi's bro,

Leading to one rather mortified Rainbow.

The five have discovered they made a mistake,

The pony they grabbed was naught but a fake!

They plan to split up and locate the real guest,

But to the spa they run, worried and distressed.

The guest, the princess, and the inspector are there,

All in that location and all unaware.

They soon see each other and demand to know,

Just what has transpired the rest of the show?

Rainbow comes clean and they're on the same page,

But is their chance squandered at being the stage?

Turns out they should not be at all afraid,

For she has grown weary of fanfaronade.

The mare has told her of her welcome tale,

Unbiased opinion that soon does prevail.

The games are awarded to Cadance' domain,

And the mane six head home upon their friendship train.

As they ride on back and their journey completes,

We see all the critters under their train seats.
Here is my rhyme for Games Ponies Play,

I hope that it will make more than one day!

Wonderful as always, striped friend of mine!

Though...I think "judging old NAG" would've been a punnier line.
